MEET MY TEAM + EXCITING UPDATES!

So as you may or may not know, I’ve been team leading the most wonderful world race team ever created for the past 3 months! Team El Perseguido! Here’s a picture of all of us!

 

 

We’ve been in Guatemala for a month now, and we’ll be here until January! Ready or not, here’s an intro to the team!

 

ZACH FLOWERS! Zach is a man who has a hunger and thirst for the LORD unlike anything I’ve ever seen in my life! He faithfully walks out the fervor and zeal commanded in Romans 12:11! He brings wisdom and insight into every conversation and situation. He is slow to speak and eager to praise GOD in all things. He brings peace and gentleness everywhere he goes. 

 

 

LUKE PETERSON! Luke carries the joy of the LORD with child-like awe and adoration. He has a heart that enjoys nothing more than to exalt the LORD! His praise is consistent throughout all circumstances, and his heart is genuine in its love and praise to the Father! He walks in excitement of what Jesus is doing here on earth, and it’s an excitement that stirs up those around him to get excited about the movement of GOD too! Luke walks with endurance toward the Throne of GOD to reverently worship his Savior. 

 

 

JOSIAH REUTENER: Josiah is a man of passion and a man of servitude! He serves humbly and eagerly! I have been blessed by his humor, his inviting spirit, his intentionality, his aeropress coffee, his desire to reflect and bring glory to Christ, and so much more! He is a man who can and will step in and accomplish anything he sets his mind to! And he’ll do it with love and a genuine heart! Josiah is a powerhouse of unity by the way he pursues people in vulnerability and kindness, while also empowering others to do likewise!

 

 

BEN STATES: Ben has a heart that seeks to know other people’s hearts deeply. He is a challenger! He doesn’t just accept what he hears, he takes it to the LORD and receives his truth from GOD alone. Ben is constantly pursuing Christ with all his strength! And out of that passion for Christ, he pursues people similarly! He doesn’t seek to see or know you on a surface level, but instead in the deepest level possible! Ben is a man of high conviction and high obedience! He seeks GOD in all things, and is quick to make right anything that does not honor and glorify Christ! 

 

 

JACK BOONE: Jack Boone is a man of diligence and joy! He brings a gentleness into every circumstance that makes you feel constantly at peace! When I think of Jack Boone I think of Matthew 11:29. Jack Boone walks in the light and easy yoke of GOD. He seeks knowledge and understanding from Christ alone and seeks to please and praise GOD, and therefore he walks in the abundance of peace and rest that GOD has for him! And he is so quick to share this abundance with anyone near him! He is constantly pouring out the joy and gladness the LORD has given him!

 

 

PHIL FORBES: Phil is a man who intentionally takes up his cross daily to intimately follow Jesus! This man is willing to put aside his own understanding, his own desires, even his own needs in order to more deeply follow his Savior! I have watched him grow in depending on Christ and not his own knowledge or what makes most sense to him. And he invites others into this passionate space of leaving everything behind to follow Christ beautifully! He’s also one of the funniest people to walk the earth.  

 

 

WILLIAM EDMONSON: Will is a friend to all! He’s a man of many many gifts, and he uses them all to glorify GOD! He is gentle, quick to encourage, quick to rebuke, funny, dependent on Christ, a peaceful presence to be around, and a die hard NC State fan. Calling Will a friend is an absolute privilege because his love is so strong and contagious. He doesn’t overlook a single person ever, instead he creates an atmosphere of inclusivity everywhere he goes!

 

 

CALEB TERRY: Caleb is loving. He is filled with compassion and a deep desire to serve GOD anywhere he can and for as long as possible! He is wise! Caleb is bold and encouraging! He seeks your heart, and he speaks right to it! He’s desperate for even just a glimpse of Jesus! He has his eyes completely focused on the things above! You can’t feel anything but loved when Caleb is around!

 

 

PHILIP WILSON: Philip is the team’s mantor (which basically means he mentors the men) and he is a MAN OF GOD!! His wisdom is absolutely awe inspiring, and his love and fear of the LORD is unique and beautiful! He lives solely out of the love GOD has for him! He is the definition of poor in spirit. Philip is also HILARIOUS! I’ve never met a man who is so balanced in all he does. He puts GOD first always, so everything else kinda just flows. I cannot express the thankfulness I have for this man! 

I’ve been SO blessed by the way these men have embraced me with loving arms! It has been the biggest privilege of my life to live alongside and love and lead these people for the past 3 months! 

 

And now I have some exciting news… I’M STAYING ON THE FIELD FOR ANOTHER 6 MONTHS! GOD has blessed me with the opportunity to stay with H squad and continue to lead these men, as well as to lead two other teams as well! I have the honor of getting to be with team Tov and team Jubilee in addition to team El Perseguido! I get to continue in discipleship and cheering these teams on as we go about daily ministry and team times and whatever else might spontaneously happen day by day! God has really started a good work within this whole squad, and I’m really excited to see how he continues to add onto it!
