As I’m standing in the training center of the World Race campus worshipping the Lord with all the other racers, I’m suddenly overcome by this magnificent weight of the Love of God! Here’s the words that I could conjure up to express what I believe the Lord was allowing me to see and receive.
The weight of sin, temptation, pain, and death are NOTHING compared to the weight of the love of God. Sin and death have to bow down to the love of God, yet the love of God bows down to nothing. It is simply the highest and most supreme! Although your sin, when you give into it and live in it, causes you to turn your face from God, God is in fact still looking at you and anticipating the time when you finally turn around to receive His love once more! God is worshipped, exalted, honored, and enthroned in our lives when we decide to step underneath the steady flowing waterfall-like stream of Jesus’ love. We cannot give what we don’t first receive, so it’s imperative as a child of God to accept the free gift of shameless love! When we receive this love, we are then marked by love and love alone. We are no longer marked by and tainted by our shame, sin, temptation, the things we’ve done/have happened to us, our short comings, our sinful nature, or anything else. Nothing… SERIOUSLY NOTHING is more real or unconditional than the love of my best friend and savior, Jesus Christ!
Please don’t ascribe the weight of your sin as more powerful than the love of the Lord. When we say or believe that the way we’re living or the things we’ve done make it to where we cannot be loved or used by the Lord, it implies that we believe God’s love isn’t as strong as our sin is. Our sin and shame must bow down and submit to the perfect cleansing love of Jesus! God’s love is more abundant and than the weight of our sin.
“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans? ?8:38-39?
